Mother’s Natures Cleaning Agents - Water and Deep Breathing
Did you know your body is 75 % water? Water is a very important part of keeping soft tissues in the body healthy and productive. Water helps flush out wastes and acids that cause stiffness, pain, adhesions, muscle spasm, or more serious buildup conditions. Water is helpful in decreasing discomfort from overexertion, and in the relaxation and rejuvenation of sore muscles. When your body is not in pain your energy level increase and stress reduces.
It has been said that the recommended quantity of daily water intake is about 8 eight-oz glasses which is 64 oz total. The true daily water intake is measured by your body weight. The formula is 1/3 of your body weight in ounces; unless your body is in crisis then it would be 50%.
If you drink caffeine/alcohol, then an equal amount of water should be consumed for each cup of caffeine or glass of alcohol. Water consumed at room temperature will more quickly adapt to normal body temperatures, especially first thing in the morning or last thing at night. It allows your body to gently awaken or shut down instead of shocking your body with cold or hot liquids.
All water is not equal
Please do not drink the tap water. The best water for your health is distilled, followed by a good filtered water, and then spring water. Water is not water if you add anything to it such as lemon, tea etc. it is no longer water. However if anything must be added, lemon in small amounts is the best option.
The most important times to drink water are after wakening for the day and before going to bed at night. These are the times just before and after your body cleanses and rejuvenates. If you consume a 1/3 of your daily required water during these 2 times you only have 1/3 to do during the day. If you weigh 150 pounds, that could be as little as 3 8 ounces remaining. Don’t be overwhelmed with the quantity of water your body requires. Just start increasing the amounts during the important times and your body will ask for more.
The key to keeping your water intake up is to have it around you no matter where you are. Bottles of water next to the bed, in the car, at work and in your gym bag are important places.
You will go to the bathroom a lot in the beginning if your body is not used to water. Your body will believe it is under attack and will rid the water until it realizes what it is and that your body needs it. This process should only take about a week.
Remember that your body requires maintenance, just like your car or home. If you don't take good care of it, it may cost you much more later on.
Deep Breathing is an essential tool in increasing energy. Deep breathing increases circulation, and reduces stress.
Rest your hands on your abdomen. Blow out all the old air in short, soft little puffs. (like keeping a feather airborne). Take a slow, deep breath, filling up gently, like a balloon. Your hands softly rises as you inhale and falls as you exhale. If you arch your back after inhaling, the air goes even deeper.
